COURSES North Berwick Golf Club and the Glen Golf Club, the original West and
East Links.
North Berwick does not allow Buggies, they hire pull trolleys and have a few
electric trolleys fo hire, and Caddies can be booked in advance through the
Club. The Starters may request handicap certificates.
The Glen does have buggies for hire but only about 10.
Neither club has practice facilties, only the putting greens.
COSTS Golf and banquet costs have broken through the £200 mark for the first time,
as North Berwick is a premier location and commands high green fees. The
charges will be £205 for the Championship 36 holes and the informal
Banquet on the Thursday night at the Marine Hotel, plus the £20 Entry Fee/
Charity Donation.
Practice rounds (subject to availabilty) can be booked at both courses on the
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at £90 for North Berwick and £32 for The
Glen, please mention the Shoe Trades championship when booking.
The International Match will be at the Glen on the Wednesday at 11.am, and
the Start-rite Sponsored Practice competition will also be at the Glen from
Noon on the Wednesday.
HOTEL The Macdonald Marine Hotel and Spa is holding a large block of rooms for the
Championship, at £150 for two sharing, including breakfast, or £110 single
occupancy including breakfast.
These are being held until May 7th, the hotel will accept bookings by telephone
or email and will request a £50 deposit per booking, please mention the
Shoe Trades Golf Championships.
These rates are also available from Sunday 17th to Friday 22nd inclusive.
