We have lost a very good and convivial friend.

 

Jack passed away in March after enduring poor health for many years, however he remained in good heart and stayed as socially active as ever.

 

Jack was an exceptionally gifted sportsman, and was County Squash Champion for Northamptonshire, and played Rugby for Northampton Rugby Club - the Saints, and for many years played cricket at a high level.

 

Northampton County Golf Club was his club, and he had been a great supporter of the Shoe Trade Golf Societies. President of the Northampton Society in 1984, and for over

50 years a supporter of the National, playing until 1995, during which time he won the

Welfit Cup five times.  He joined the Committee in 1974, and was appointed Charity

Steward in 1978, successfully managing the Prize Draw until 1989. In 1987 he was

made a Vice President, and in 1991 became the Administration Secretary, which made

him well know and admired by many, he retired from that post in 2002.

 

He will be sadly missed, but remembered with great affection.
