The event started in 1946 and has continued, uninterupted ever since.
The object of the Society is to promote goodwill and fellowship throughout all sections of the Industry through the golf competition, and to raise funds for the International Golf Championship of the Shoe, Leather and Allied Trades Charity Trust.
The Charity Trust was constituted by a trust deed on October 14th 1981 and was given formal charitable status by the Charity Commissioners on June 24 th 1987. The registered number is 296821.
Visitors and Guests are most welcome and play for their own trophies, but from 2008 will play within the
main event, so that guests can play with the person extending the invitation.
